On our walk home from a relaxing meal at Blue Eyes Restaurant, I decided on a nightcap or two, and lo and behold we came across McSwiggan's Pub. I could never turn down some libations at an Irish pub, so I "dragged" my friend and our lil' black beast for some post-meal drinking. It was a surprisingly calm evening when we first arrived, but soon enough the place started popping as it got later and revelers were out and about. Because furry family members weren't understandably allowed inside, we opted for the inviting outdoor patio which was fine since it was a warm evening. They had a QR Code ordering system which was a breeze to use. A friendly young man brought our orders almost immediately and collected our empty glasses each time. Everything was easy and efficient - thank you! PARKING (Street Only; N/A this instance) We were walking back to my friend's relatively nearby place. Otherwise, as was the case for much of Hoboken, there were limited spots along the main drag of 1st St. and all surrounding streets if you were lucky enough to find an empty spot, or you took public transportation which stopped nearby - nuff said. Decent natural lighting entered inside while dim electric ceiling lights and the glow from the TVs filled in the rest. As you'd imagine, there was plenty of natural lighting outside in addition to the street and hung electric lights, respectively. OVERALL I felt at home at McSwiggan's Pub and would love to return to experience their food and maybe a game with the local patrons. They had an exhaustive drink menu while the food menu was varied enough with your usual pub and sports bar fare. The prices were comparable, the service straightforward, they were pet-friendly outside, and everyone generally seemed welcoming. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $25.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). “ PROS: This place is one of the best Irish bars in the area. The music is lit, its always jumping if you like crowds, and the bar is larger than most so it's able to attend to more people at once. CONS: It's away from all the other major bars so it's a walk, and its very tiny. You can't even walk through it because the crowd is just squished in there OVERALL: If you don't mind fighting the crowds and walking out of your way to get here then I suggest you attend, if not, then go somewhere else ”
